This is a major victory for our state.

After almost 40 hours of debate and a filibuster attempt by the GOP, Colorado Democrats successfully passed the Reproductive Health Equity Act.

Here’s why this is a big deal: Nearly 50 years after Roe v. Wade, reproductive rights are being threatened like never before. Republican-led legislatures across the country are advancing restrictive laws to strip women’s reproductive freedom. On top of it all, the Supreme Court is preparing to rule on a case that could undermine Roe v. Wade.

By passing this bill, Colorado is sending a clear message that Jason wholeheartedly agrees with: We will protect every individual’s reproductive freedom. No matter what.

As we wait for Governor Polis to sign the bill, there’s still more we need to do: Protect reproductive rights for everybody.

Jason and House Democrats passed the Women’s Health Protection Act last summer, which would safeguard reproductive rights nationwide. It’s time for the Senate to take action.
