Before our first FEC fundraising deadline of the year on Thursday night, my team and I sent out a number of emails asking supporters to make a donation to this campaign.

I want to thank all of you. Because of your support, we hit our goal and we’ll be able to show up strong on the FEC report. Candidates running across the nation will see that running a people-powered, honest campaign can be successful. Without you, this campaign would be impossible.

It’s not my favorite thing to have to reach out and ask for money. But this campaign is powered by grassroots support. No corporate PAC money. That’s why these deadlines and goals really matter. It means a lot to me that so far, over 2,080 supporters have stepped up and made their first donation.

I’m proud that we are running a campaign powered by workers, parents, educators, and California families. Together, we are building something special. And I promise to be a voice with integrity in Congress for the priorities that matter.
