HUGE news: yet another group with GOP ties is spending MILLIONS of dollars to discredit the impeachment probe.

Politico broke the news on Monday -- the American Action Network, a dark money group closely linked to Republican leadership, has launched a $5 million television ad campaign and another $2 million digital ad campaign to attack House Democrats in battleground districts on their support of impeachment.

They’re targeting 16 Democrats who they think are vulnerable in elections next year, and they’re saturating the airwaves with attack ads. We know how to fight back, but we can’t do it without you.

We’re not funded by dark money -- we’re funded by you. That means we don’t have $7 million lying around to match right-wing spending and counter this latest round of attacks. But it also means that even small gifts make a huge difference in how much we’re able to accomplish. Between this $7 million ad buy, the $8 million the Trump campaign has spent, and the more than $2 million the RNC has spent, it’s clear that Republicans and Trump supporters are running scared and doing whatever they can to fight impeachment.

So we’re putting everything on the line to get information out there and make sure our representatives do their jobs and vote to impeach. Here are just some of the things we’re working on to make it happen:

• We’ve launched our own digital ad campaign, building the pressure it’ll take to make sure key senators commit to holding a fair and open impeachment trial when it reaches the Senate. So far, we’ve spent $286,000 on this campaign, and with help from people like you we’d love to expand it.
  
  
• Our Director of Democracy Policy, Meagan Hatcher-Mays, stars in Impeachment Daily, our daily recap of everything impeachment. One of the GOP’s key goals is to confuse constituents and validate irrelevant and downright false claims. Meagan cuts right to the heart of the matter with everything you need to know each day.
  
  
• Indivisibles nationwide are using HubDialer, our state-of-the-art call tool, to connect progressive voters directly to their senators (you can sign up for your own call shift here!). With this tool, we’re building even more pressure on the Senate to conduct a fair and open trial -- but it costs $362,000.
  
  
• And as always, we’re supporting local groups in holding events and rallies and attending town halls to build nationwide pressure on impeachment. We spend $8,000 every month to keep our event map live, not to mention all the time our organizers spend working directly with groups to make their events successful and effective.

These are just some of our most visible efforts -- but impeachment is embedded in almost everything we do these days.
