ICYMI: Politifact and CNN: Josh Mandel falsely claims Mike Gibbons said military service isn't real work

Cleveland, OH – Two new fact checks released from Politifact and CNN on Friday reiterated that Josh Mandel falsely claimed Mike Gibbons doesn’t respect military veterans.

These reports prove that Mandel attempted to twist and smear Mike’s words in order to save his own floundering campaign.

“Mandel claimed in an ad that Gibbons said "military service doesn't count as real work. Gibbons said in a debate that Mandel has never worked in the private sector; he didn’t say what this ad claims. We rate Mandel’s claim False.”

“Mandel inaccurately described Gibbons' comments when confronting him in the moment, then proceeded to turn his inaccurate description into a scripted attack ad.”

These articles also highlight the latest ad from the Gibbons campaign addressing Mandel’s lies, titled “Served.”

This ad comes off the heels of the Gibbons campaign launching the new Veterans for Mike Gibbons coalition, a group of over forty veterans that know Mike supports our veterans and will fight to give them the best possible in the U.S. Senate.

Like any other career politician, Mandel smears and lies to score dishonest political points. Mike Gibbons has nothing but respect for our men and women in uniform and their families, and this move by Mandel showcases that he's nothing but another career politician who will lie to get elected.

Mandel should remove these false ads from the airwaves.
