As we welcome the holiest month of the Islamic year, on behalf of the entire Emgage team, I would like to sincerely wish you a blessed Ramadan!
As we enter this month, I find myself energized by my team's dedication to our collective mission, to redefine what it means to be socially responsible and civically engaged within our communities. Community is the key word.
This year alone, we kicked off early voting in February and our national organizing team traveled to Texas for an on-the-ground Emerging Leaders retreat. Last month, our team in Michigan gathered rising changemakers in partnership with New American Leaders to host a training on how to run a campaign.
Building change is not a sprint, but an ongoing marathon - we are excited to see a new generation run for office. Emgage Pennsylvania also made headlines under the leadership of Executive Director, Salima Suswell, who was just recognized as one of this year's 22 Faith Leaders to Watch. On the same weekend of this recognition, our very own Florida Executive Director, Ancel Pratt III, hosted a seminar about Building a Path to Political Power with local representatives at the South Florida Muslim Federation Conference and Grand Bazaar. With the close of March, Emgage New York Metro was exceptionally busy in preparation of Muslim Day at City Hall with City Council Member Shahana Hanif alongside coalition partners.
