Issue 13

My fellow Republicans,

Hope you saw my interview on KLRN. I know that many of you may want one or another of the projects in these massive billion dollar bonds, but I'm speaking out in favor of more fiscal conservatism, and demanding that the media and the taxing authorities be straight with the voters and admit these bonds would increase tax burden on every resident of Bexar County. Our existing debt is already large compared to other Texas cities. The bond proponents usually stick to their talking point that the rate isn't projected to increase. They leave out the obvious fact that if you pay the same rate on higher home values, and have to pay off a few extra billion dollars, you will have less money in your pocket!

Don't forget that there are conservative and liberal candidates on the ballot May 7. Do your research. If I lived in Universal City, I'd vote for my friend Adam Salyer for Mayor. We'll do what we can to help Universal City residents by electing him.

Come see us at Headquarters. We need your help to call Republicans and keep them engaged for the May 7 election and our Primary Runoff on May 24.

John Austin,

Chairman
