Hi John,
Have you seen the news? Amazon workers organizing with the Amazon Labor Union at the company's Staten Island JFK8 facility voted in favor of forming a union. It's the first-ever union for Amazon workers in the United States and an enormous victory for organizers--particularly Black organizers. In Bessemer, Alabama, we're still awaiting the final vote total for the re-vote in that union election, but we'll tell you this much--it's VERY close.
What does this all mean? Workers are WINNING and want to form unions at Amazon locations, from New York to the Deep South.
Of course, Amazon doesn't want to play nice. After spending millions on anti-union consulting groups last year and pulling out every union-busting trick the company could muster, the company's calling foul on the election.
That's why we're asking you to join with DC Jobs With Justice for a very special rally outside Jeff Bezos's Washington, D.C. house on Monday, April 4 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
It's a great chance for us to show our support for Amazon workers and for us to tell Jeff Bezos that Amazon must stop all union-busting.
If you can make, please, RSVP here and join with DC Jobs With Justice on Monday! We'll see y'all there!
In Solidarity,
Joel
