This isn’t an Aprils Fools' Joke, John.
Today history was made. Amazon workers in Staten Island won their election to become the first unionized Amazon warehouse in the country. Despite Amazon management's extreme union-busting efforts, workers voted to unionize by a wide margin.
This victory was won by poor and working people showing solidarity and coming together to take on one of, if not the most powerful, companies in the world.
But the fight isn’t over. With more elections coming in April, Amazon will do everything they can to undermine organizing because they know that worker power is a threat to their bottom line.
Until workers secure their contract, Amazon Labor Union is depending on contributions from supporters to keep up their organizing in the fights ahead. Will you stand with Amazon workers and make a direct contribution to the Amazon Labor Union?
ALU President Chris Smalls, and all of the other organizers that made this victory possible are showing us what we can collectively achieve when we stand together.
This is just the beginning of a labor movement that is rising up across the country, in response to the failures of corporations and government in protecting working people during a pandemic.
Celebrate with Amazon workers by making a contribution to the Amazon Labor Union. With another union election coming this month, ALU needs your support to power its organizing efforts.
Solidarity forever,
Team Justice Democrats
