We actually can’t do this without you virtually...

I may just write to you once a week, but my colleagues and I are thinking about you a lot more often than that.

No Labels punches above its weight in national policy debates, succeeding at the challenge of bringing the two parties together to get stuff done. To take our efforts to the next level, we need our members and volunteers to play an even bigger role.

Thursday evening, we had the chance to talk with some of you — including a few of our most committed online ambassadors — in a Zoom forum. We discussed what drew folks to No Labels, and how and why they spread our message on Facebook, Twitter, and elsewhere. And they had some great tips for how you can do the same:

  • Follow No Labels on Facebook, @NoLabelsOrg on Twitter, and @nolabelsorg on Instagram, and join our members-only No Labels Ambassadors on Facebook

  • Like and share No Labels content on social media, and comment on what we post.

  • Follow our House Problem Solvers Caucus allies on Facebook and Twitter, and like and share their content.

  • Follow major media accounts, and accounts of key political figures. Engage respectfully with them and their followers on the message of our movement, and link to No Labels content while doing so.

  • Comment on posts by politicians and pundits who are not on our side, urging them to put cooperation over conflict. Tag No Labels when you do.

These are just a few ways you can actively aid No Labels online — and it’s more effective than you might think. For example, according to the Congressional Management Foundation, 45% of elected officials say they do take notice when someone engages with them via Twitter.

And as we head into a hotly contested midterm election season — and look ahead to 2024 — we will be counting on you, our supporters, to amplify our voice online.

Five Facts on New US Military Aid to Ukraine
By No Labels

President Biden in March announced an additional $800 million in military aid to Ukraine, on top of the $650 million provided in 2021. Overall, NATO allies have provided nearly $2 billion in military support to Ukraine since the start of the conflict — a significant boost, since Ukraine spent just $6 billion on its military last year.

The Revenge of the Normal Republicans
By Tim Alberta

But if past is prologue, he says, Republicans will do little with their newly won power in 2023. Congressional leaders will struggle to corral their rambunctious majorities; the party will succeed in frustrating Joe Biden’s agenda but fail to provide any governing vision for the country; and by 2024 the country will be forced to choose between two dug-in, do-nothing parties.

By Burgess Everett

The Louisianan confirmed in an interview that he’s considering running for governor in his state, which has elected conservative Democrat John Bel Edwards to two consecutive terms — the first one over former Sen. David Vitter (R-La.). Cassidy said it’s not his idea, but that he’s “been approached to run for governor” by people in the state.

How a lawmaker stuck in House minority 'gets things done'
By Garrett Downs

“While there may be some members who are better at talking about problems, there aren’t very many that are actually better at finding solutions … that’s our guiding value in this office,” Johnson told Agri-Pulse in an interview. “A lot of people in this town are interested in making points, but I’m interested in making progress.”
