Today in Jersey City, a parade was held to celebrate the historic run by New Jersey’s own Saint Peter’s University to the Elite Eight. Fans from across the region came out to cheer on our very own Cinderella team. Saint Peter’s is the first 15 seed in NCAA Men's College Basketball history to reach the Elite Eight [[link removed]] and they deserve all the recognition they are receiving.
Saint Peter’s captivated the nation during this phenomenal run and made us all extremely proud. New Jersey is a powerhouse for higher education and athletic excellence and the world got a front-row seat to that excellence last month. #StrutUp

GOVERNOR MURPHY UPDATE

New Jersey has seen its credit rating upgraded twice in one month. Yesterday, S&P Global Ratings raised its rating of New Jersey [[link removed]] for the first time since 2005, giving New Jersey a stable financial outlook. This comes during the same month that Moody’s gave the state a credit upgrade [[link removed]] , something it hasn’t done in 45 years. Under Governor Murphy’s leadership, our state is making fiscally responsible decisions, setting us up for a strong financial future.
PRESIDENT BIDEN UPDATE

Yesterday, President Biden announced bold and unprecedented steps to lower gas prices and put America on the path to energy independence. The U.S. will be releasing 1 million barrels a day from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve [[link removed]] to curb prices while additionally invoking the Defense of Production Act to ramp up domestic production of minerals that are needed for electric car batteries. In the short term these decisions will help to ease the burden at the pump, while in the long term we are transitioning to clean energy.
