This week, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas expanded our Navy SEALs lawsuit, and preliminary injunction issued in January, to include every U.S. Navy service member who requested a religious accommodation from the vaccine mandate.
This decision stops the Department of Defense from punishing any Navy personnel who have religious objections to the Department’s mandate. It expands the lawsuit that initially protected dozens of Navy SEALs to now include protection for thousands of Navy personnel.
In his decision, U.S. District Court Judge Reed O’Connor criticized the unconstitutional actions of the Biden administration, noting that, “[I]t is hard to imagine a more consistent display of discrimination.”
While we are thankful for this victory, we know that our fight for the Navy SEALs is still far from over—especially in light of the recent setback from the U.S. Supreme Court granting the government’s requests to consider vaccination status when planning deployment or assignments.
In light of the actual data and age of the SEALs, the abuse of our most elite warriors for virtually no reason rather than their faith is inexcusable. It’s also illegal. And to that end, First Liberty will never quit until we fully restore the rights of our nation’s service members.
But to stay on the frontlines in this fight, we urgently need your financial support and fervent prayers. While the road ahead is full of intense legal battles, we are optimistic that together we can win for our brave heroes.
To help us secure a victory in this case for our U.S. Navy SEALs, a generous group of our supporters have recently announced a special $500,000 CHALLENGE GRANT.
Take full advantage of this grant today so we can secure a win in this crucial fight.
Our brave heroes and their families are counting on us. Please donate to help us deliver a final victory for our Navy SEALs and thousands of service members.
