Thanks for helping us take this major step forward!

Friend,

I’m excited to share that the U.S. House just passed the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act.

This victory is thanks to supporters like you. You’ve helped us keep the pressure on the House to advance this bill since it first passed in a historic win more than a year ago. And we’re pleased that leadership finally listened to our persistent calls for action.

Now we’re one step closer to ending federal marijuana prohibition and seeking justice for the communities that have been devastated as a result of cruel and racist marijuana enforcement.

The MORE Act is the most far-reaching marijuana reform bill ever in Congress. It would decriminalize marijuana to end federal prohibition while prioritizing equity and justice every step of the way and repairing harms through expungement, resentencing, and community reinvestment.

We know ending prohibition alone isn’t enough for real justice – we must also legalize it the right way so we don’t repeat the harms that unfairly punish Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and low-income communities.

We’ve shown it’s possible with our victories one year ago when we legalized marijuana in New York and New Mexico and set a new gold standard for how to do it equitably. And today's MORE Act vote is another step toward making marijuana justice a reality on the federal level – but now it’s up the Senate to make it happen.

Please tell your Senators to follow the House’s lead by moving federal marijuana justice reform forward as soon as possible.

Passage of the MORE Act provides hope that a better future lies ahead – one where arrest records are wiped clean, new opportunities to take part in the legal marijuana industry exist, and desperately needed resources are redirected back into the communities that have been most harmed.

I’m honored to be celebrating this victory with you and hope you continue standing with us so we can celebrate a similar win in the Senate soon.

  With gratitude,
