OpenSpace Education's Functional Ceramics course offers girls the opportunity to work with the environment and explore its capabilities. Participants will plant seedlings and nurture them. Girls will also create ceramic planters for themselves and community members while becoming versed in resourcefulness, food justice, and cultivation of plants. Girls will develop an appreciation for nature from diverse perspectives. Instructors include members of Happily Natural and the Earth Folk Collective, the organization that serves as caretakers of the Fonticello Food Forest located in Richmond's Southside.
