Friend,
We’re closing in on the first big fundraising deadline of the year. Let me explain why this is so important.
Every day that I’m in Congress, I’m a reminder to my colleagues that marginalized people, and Black and brown voices belong. Not only do I represent one of the lowest-wealth congressional districts in the country―from majority-Black Detroit―but I am also a Muslim woman and the daughter of Palestinian immigrants.
While most members of Congress are millionaires, everyday people deserve representation too. We need elected officials who understand the struggles of working people and people with multiple marginalized backgrounds.
Tonight at midnight represents a critical fundraising deadline. After tonight, we’ll file a report with the FEC and show the power of our re-election campaign and the power of our movement for change. Our opponents and the media are waiting for this report and we must show that we’re ready for the fight ahead.
Will you pitch in today to help send me back to Congress to keep fighting for you, to represent your voice, and to fight for people who are so-often left behind?

Friend,
Tonight at midnight we’ll close the books on the first big fundraising deadline of the year. We’ll report to the Federal Election Commission on our money raised and spent and where our donations come from.
While many elected officials accept money from corporate special interests, Rashida rejects corporate contributions―relying instead on thousands of grassroots contributions from everyday people like you, Friend.
The media and our opponents will look through our fundraising report, trying to find a weakness. But because Rashida has you by her side, we know that, together, we can defeat the corporate special interests seeking to take her down.
Will you rush a contribution right now, before tonight’s midnight fundraising deadline, to power Rashida’s re-election campaign and show the strength of our grassroots movement for change?
Rashida has always fought for marginalized people, for her neighbors, and her residents. Even before she was elected to Congress, Rashida held Marathon Oil and the Koch brothers accountable for polluting Detroit’s air and water―forcing them to clean up toxic pollution on Detroit’s riverfront.
Now, whether through congressional hearings holding CEOs accountable for greed and corruption or by standing with workers on the picket line, Rashida continues to speak truth to power, fighting for the rights and wages of working people.
Will you have Rashida’s back and donate before tonight’s critical midnight fundraising deadline?
