On Friday, April 1, it will be legal to sell cannabis at retail stores in New Mexico!
I'm so proud to have signed this policy into law, but I need your help to continue enacting bold, progressive change: Will you donate $5 now to keep New Mexico blue?

John,
When I first took office, I promised to lead New Mexico toward a more progressive, equitable future – and I'm proud to report that we're taking a bold step toward that goal this week.
For decades, the failed war on drugs has disproportionately harmed communities of color. In the case of cannabis laws, prosecution has been especially unequal: Although Americans use cannabis at roughly the same rate regardless of their race, a Black person is nearly four times more likely than a white person to be arrested for cannabis possession nationwide.
That's why I took a step toward ending the war on drugs by legalizing cannabis – and this Friday, retail stores will be allowed to sell cannabis in New Mexico. Not only will this policy advance racial equity, it will also open doors for workers and entrepreneurs to participate in a burgeoning industry that stimulates our economy and creates tax revenue for state projects.
I'm so proud to have ushered in this progressive policy, and I'm committed to leading New Mexico toward a brighter future for the next five years. But with my reelection coming up in November, the GOP is pushing harder than ever to replace me and erase our progress. That's why I need your help today, John.
I need to raise $150,000 before my critical end-of-quarter deadline tomorrow at midnight to fuel this progressive grassroots movement. I wasn't able to fundraise for three months because of regulations around legislative sessions – so I'm way behind on my goal for the quarter, and I need your help:
Please, John, if you have $5 to spare, will you donate now to help me reach my end-of-quarter goal, keep New Mexico blue, and pass bold policies like cannabis legalization?

Thank you for joining this progressive movement.
