Patriot, The mass media is lying about the tax hikes in Joe Biden’s proposed 2023 budget, parroting the administration’s disingenuous claim that it’s just a big tax hike “on billionaires.” The Biden budget actually contains 36 different tax increases totaling $2.5 trillion, many of which ultimately get passed directly onto the American people. The biggest tax hike is the corporate income tax hike from 21% to 28%, which would put our corporate tax rate higher than Communist China’s 25% even before accounting for another 4% in state corporate taxes. By definition, all business taxes must be paid by owners or workers, resulting in less investment income or lower wages. Put differently, all business taxes are passed on to workers or owners, and it turns out that they are mostly passed on to workers. And since more than half of Americans invest in stock (either directly or through 401ks and other retirement plans), WE ALL pay for those tax hikes, too. Meanwhile, the Biden proposal also imposes a shocking new tax on “unrealized assets” – that is, assets people don’t have. The budget will impose the 40 percent capital gains tax on the unrealized gains of every asset owned by a taxpayer when they die. This will be imposed in addition to the existing 40 percent Death Tax and will disproportionately fall on family-owned businesses, many of which are asset rich, but cash poor. Of course, there’s also a huge list of tax hikes on oil and gas, 14 of them totaling over $44 billion, all of which get passed on to consumers (we the people). And all of this comes at a time when the American people are seeing the biggest tax hike of the most regressive kind: inflation, the theft of the value of the dollar, of our life savings and our income. Patriot, every American needs to contact their Congressman and DEMAND they OPPOSE Biden’s massive tax hikes that will make our suffering economy even worse. This means you! Call your Representative at (202) 224-3121. This is the Capitol switchboard that will put you through to your representative and help you identify him or her if needed. You don’t need any special script. Just identify yourself as a constituent and tell them to oppose the Biden budget because it’s the most insidious tax-and-spend scheme ever. All that matters is how many people call. Whether your representative is a Republican or a Democrat, they need to hear from you. Republicans need to know we’re watching to prevent them from trying to negotiate any sort of “deal” for special-interest money. And Democrats need to know this absurd budget is going to hurt them even more in the polls come November and put them out of work – which might actually lead to some improvement in the final bill. The more calls we can make, the better the chance we can stop or at least mitigate these tax hikes. So please make your voice heard today. It only takes a minute to call Congress at (202) 224-3121 and leave a short message. And then, if you can, please consider making a most generous contribution to Campaign for Liberty especially as we try to reach our end-of-quarter goal. With your help, we can reach more patriots and hold our lawmakers accountable for every assault on our liberty and our prosperity. Whether you can make a great contribution today or just chip in a little, all of it will help. Thank you for all that you do to save our Republic. For Liberty, John McCardell Executive Director Campaign for Liberty P.S. The Biden tax-and-spend budget proposal is not a tax on “billionaires,” it’s 36 taxes that all Americans will pay for one way or another. Don’t be silent: Call your representative in Congress at (202) 224-3121 and demand they oppose Biden’s $2 trillion tax hike budget. The mission of Campaign for Liberty is to promote and defend the great American
principles of individual liberty, constitutional government, sound money, free markets, and a constitutional foreign policy, by means of education,
issue advocacy, and grassroots mobilization. |
