Honor Transgender Day of Visibility, Friend!

This Transgender Day of Visibility (also known as “TDOV”), we’re honoring transgender and nonbinary members of our community, and lifting up their triumphs, contributions, and resilience. Being out as trans can be liberating for many people — it means being able to live as their true and authentic self.

As we track nearly 200 anti-LGBTQ bills across the country, most of which specifically target transgender and nonbinary youth, TDOV is more important than ever. This day offers us an opportunity to elevate trans and nonbinary experiences and voices.

To our trans community across the nation and the world: we love you, we are here for you, and you are beautiful, incredible, and indispensable. Trans and nonbinary people deserve to thrive as their true selves, and every day is another opportunity to stand up for that right. Below are some actions you can take today:

Governor Abbott has given unlawful guidance to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to begin investigating all transgender children in Texas and prosecuting their parents as child abusers.

The first step to becoming an ally is to learn more. It can be tough for trans and nonbinary people to bear the burden of educating others about their experiences, so we've created a resource with tips to support the young people in your life.
