John,

Next month will mark the one-year anniversary of my historic, bipartisan criminal justice reform legislation, the First Step Act, becoming law. Because of this law, thousands of people have been released from prison and given a second chance at life.

But just as the name suggests, that bill was only our first step. Our work is far from over.

That's why I am proud to introduce the bipartisan Smarter Sentencing Act to address the serious issue of mandatory minimum prison sentences for non-violent drug offenses.

Are you with us in the fight to reform prison sentencing guidelines and ensure our prisons aren't overpopulated with non-violent offenders? Add your name now.

Our prisons have a staggering number of people who were convicted of non-violent drug offenses, but were handed unfair sentences due to mandatory minimum sentencing rules. Passing the Smarter Sentencing Act is a key component in our continued fight for criminal justice reform.

The First Step Act brought together an unprecedented coalition of elected leaders on both sides of the aisle, organizations, and activists to fight for much-needed reforms to our criminal justice system. Now, let's come together and show the same support for the Smarter Sentencing Act.

We can't get this done without people like you speaking out, John. Sign your name right now to join us in the ongoing fight for criminal justice reform.
