John, It’s been nearly fifteen months since hundreds of violent insurrectionists stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to overturn a democratic election, incited by former President Trump and with the support of his allies in Congress. Since then, officials on the federal level have done next to nothing to hold these elected lawmakers accountable for their role in the attack that risked their colleagues’ lives. That’s why we’re taking the fight for justice to the states. Last week, we filed a complaint on behalf of Georgia voters with Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, arguing that insurrectionist Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is ineligible to seek re-election or appear on any future ballot under Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment, otherwise known as the Insurrectionist Disqualification Clause. Greene was instrumental in planning the pre-attack demonstration and/or march on the Capitol with knowledge that it was substantially likely to lead to the attack, and she has since defended the use of political violence to subvert the will of the people. Our success in this challenge depends on you. Your support for Free Speech For People provides us with the funds we need to maintain our top-notch team of legal advocates and see this complaint through to the end. Can you chip in to help us defend Section 3 of the 14th Amendment and ensure that Marjorie Taylor Greene and other insurrectionists are barred from the ballot in 2022 and beyond? Greene is one of a handful of congressional lawmakers who, according to public evidence, aided the insurrectionists who attempted to overthrow our democracy on January 6th. Their continued presence in the halls of power represent an ongoing threat to our republic. That they have yet to face any consequences for violating their oath of office is unacceptable, and it has emboldened us to hold not just these insurrectionist lawmakers, but also election officials across the country, accountable to the Constitution they swore to protect. When we launched the 14point3 campaign last year, we made it clear that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment bars elected officials who engage in insurrection from ever holding public office again. But we need your help to ensure election officials like Secretary Raffensperger apply the Insurrectionist Disqualification Clause and bar complicit lawmakers from the ballot.
