John,
When Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) was the sole Democratic holdout in the Senate on the Build Back Better Act, he cited concerns over the deficit―even though the plan was paid for by making the rich and corporations pay more of their fair share in taxes.
With an eye on delivering a balanced plan that reduces costs for the American people while putting money in people’s pockets, the President has introduced a budget that is getting a lot of attention from progressives and moderates alike. And one likely reason he’s got Manchin’s attention can be found in this headline:
President Biden’s budget is a roadmap to invest in families and communities, responsibly and sustainably―and to unrig our tax system to make the rich and corporations start paying their fair share.
Rush a contribution today to demand Congress act on President Biden’s budget and deliver investments that will continue to grow our economy while leaving no one behind.

John,
From rising wages to record-breaking job creation, actions taken last year by Congress and the Biden administration have resulted in a vibrant economy that’s uplifting low- and moderate-income people and families.
But those gains will be short-lived unless we make sustained investments in our future―paid for by making the rich and corporations pay their fair share.
Now, President Biden has introduced a budget that invests in education, housing, health care, and clean energy. He has responded to moderates’ concerns by reducing the deficit by a trillion dollars over the next decade, achieved by closing gaping loopholes that the ultra-rich and corporations have used to avoid paying taxes.
President Biden’s budget serves as a roadmap for Congress to act. Rush a contribution today to build support for President Biden’s budget, which invests in our future while requiring the rich and corporations to start paying their fair share.

The Biden budget pledges to continue the fight this year for an economic package that would continue the expanded Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit, reduce the cost of child care, lower prescription drug costs and health care premiums while expanding coverage to millions more Americans, expand school meals and summer food for children, provide free Pre-K and free or reduced college costs, pass federal paid family leave, expand housing assistance and more.
That’s a fight we must win.
There appear to be new openings for negotiations with Senator Joe Manchin (the lone Democratic holdout in the Senate last year) and heightened concern from others in Congress that action is needed to help people cope with rising prices. That’s what the economic package would do.
So please help us continue the work to get it done.
The economic growth over the last year has helped to reduce our federal deficit by a whopping $1.3 trillion. President Biden’s budget would further reduce the deficit by another $1 trillion over 10 years.
The budget would create jobs with good pay in our care economy as well as renewable energy, expanded health care, infrastructure and more.
The president’s budget proposes equitable investments in working people and communities who are so-often left behind―including people with low incomes, communities of color and immigrants.
President Biden pays for his budget by unrigging our tax system, requiring the wealthy and corporations to start paying their fair share, including a tax on billionaires’ wealth gains each year.
It’s time for Congress to act! And President Biden’s budget provides a roadmap that is critical to our future. Chip in $5 today to fight for investments in our families and communities―paid for by making the rich and corporations pay their fair share.
