An important update from Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington

John -

President Trump has unquestionably abused his power and engaged in multiple impeachable acts, and must be impeached and removed from office.

History will remember today as the day a sitting United States ambassador testified under oath before Congress and laid out a clear, simple and damning case that President Trump abused the power of his office and committed bribery, an act for which the Constitution leaves but one outcome. Our democracy has already been seriously damaged, and the office of the president sullied, by the president’s unforgivable misconduct. Removal from office is now the only remedy to protect our country from further harm—patriotism and respect for our country and the office of the presidency demand this unprecedented step.

Read my op-ed that was just published in the New York Times calling for the president’s removal from office, and share on Facebook or by forwarding this email. Help us amplify the case for Trump’s impeachment and removal—for the good of the country.

At CREW, we’ve been fighting President Trump’s corruption and abuses of power since the start of his presidency. We have had no illusions about his flagrant disregard for ethics and the rule of law, but even with Trump’s incredibly low bar, today is still a shocking and historic day. We hoped never to reach this place, but now the right path forward is clear.

President Trump’s bribery and abuse of power means we are left with only one option: Congress must remove President Trump from office.

Thank you for everything you are doing to defend this country,

Noah Bookbinder
Executive Director, CREW
