John,
It’s Paul, Josh’s Dad.
I’ve never written a political email before, and I’m not a very political person, but I wanted to write because I’m so proud of the work Josh has done and the work he’ll do in Congress if elected.
My wife and I raised Josh with the values that if you work hard, play by the rules, and treat others with respect, then you’d get a fair shot at success. Josh has embodied those values, as well as the belief that we are at our best when we work together toward a better world for all of us.
When Josh was in high school, he added a paper route to his daily schedule. He had to wake up at the crack of dawn in all kinds of weather conditions to deliver newspapers throughout the neighborhood. He then went to school and earned good grades and attended football or lacrosse practice every night, all before returning home for dinner and homework. In college, he had a work-study and a full load of coursework. In law school, he maintained those values and work ethic, which led him to a fellowship on the Labor & Pensions Committee in the U.S. Senate and to volunteer at a legal aid clinic in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, helping workers who had lost their jobs.
After law school, Josh chose a law practice that allowed him to continue his public service work ethic. He went to Florida to represent children and families who faced barriers to obtaining medical care.
Josh has demonstrated what it means to work hard and care for others throughout his life and career. I know as a Member of Congress, he’ll fight tirelessly for all of the people whom he will represent. Josh and his team are certainly putting in the hours every single day to introduce him to the people who can send him to Congress.
Here’s one more thing I know about his campaign: tonight is their biggest fundraising deadline of the entire campaign.
So, if it’s in your budget to make a contribution today, I hope you’ll chip in a few bucks to help power his team’s work for the next three months of the race >>

I’m grateful that Josh has so many committed friends and supporters backing him every step of the way, just like me.
