John,
I remember 1986 like it was yesterday. Not only was it my painfully
awkward time as a middle-schooler but it was also the last time
meaningful immigration reform was passed and enacted by Congress.
**That was 36 years ago.**
A lot has changed since then. My fashion choices have improved (barely),
new technologies have changed the world, our culture is fresher,
brighter.
Shouldn't our immigration laws have changed by now, too? (If you're
ready to make change happen, make a gift, and support our work!)
Now is a particularly critical moment for reforms to the system: The
U.S. faces economic challenges and labor shortages amid a pandemic
recovery; DACA recipients and their employers continue to face an
uncertain future; and challenges at the border demand more orderly,
humane solutions.
That's why we're expanding our work to build alliances and mobilize
constituencies to put pressure on Congress to act.
**Before the quarter ends, can you make a gift today to help us reach
our $15,000 goal and support our advocacy efforts?**

Look, John, we are under no illusion that bipartisan bridges are
easy to build. But we know there's strong support from Americans
across the political spectrum who want Congress to work together on key
immigration reforms. Longtime champion, Senator Dick Durbin (D-Illinois)
is working across the aisle to pass legislation for Dreamers and other
immigrants.
The time is ripe for solutions to our broken immigration system.
**Help expand our work. Make a gift now to pave the way for change!**
Thank you for your support,
