Julie Padilla, the Twin Metals spokesperson, told the Star Tribune newspaper it “wasn’t a fair question” to ask if the Twin Metals mine would pose zero risk to the Boundary Waters.
We find her response outrageous. In fact, the question that matters the most is whether the Boundary Waters Wilderness will stay pure and pollution-free. We know for a fact that a Twin Metals sulfide-ore mine next to the Wilderness would pollute it, and potentially forever. |
