As the Supreme Court prepares to gut or overturn Roe v. Wade, right-wing state legislatures are rushing to copy Texas’s cruel abortion ban.
We need to defend our pro-choice Democratic majority in the House.
That’s why Six PAC supporters are helping Jessica Cisneros (TX-28) defeat Rep. Henry Cuellar, the last ant-choice Democrat in Congress.
And, we’re supporting Erica Smith (NC-01) against a centrist Democrat that voted to defund Planned Parenthood.
Both Jessica and Erica face primary voters in May – pivotal contests that will decide how hard Democrats in Congress fight for reproductive rights.
In 2019, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D) vetoed a Republican “born-alive” bill designed to erode abortion rights, threatening doctors with jail time. Erica’s primary opponent was the ONLY Democratic vote in the State Senate to override Cooper’s veto, providing the DECIDING vote.
And this year, Texas passed an abortion ban that put a potential $10,000 bounty on anyone helping women seek abortion health care. Jessica’s primary opponent said abortion was “not women’s health care”, and was the ONLY Democrat in Congress to vote NO on codifying Roe v. Wade into law.
To protect reproductive rights, we don’t just need to elect Democrats. We need to elect pro-choice champions who will fight relentlessly against right-wing extremists.
