John – last night I sent you an email about Trump’s comments
smearing me at his faux 2024 rally over the weekend.

Right after we hit send, I received a text that the former disgraced
president just sent out another statement smearing me. Take a look for
yourself:

“Scum,” that's a new one. Well, the former president has always had a
tendency to self-project while hurling insults.

While it’s tempting to diminish his comments or laugh them off, this is
just the start of the relentless smear campaign Trump is going to wage
from now until November.

Trump’s goal is clear: Rile up his supporters, get the likes of Fox and
Newsmax to cover his obscene statement, hope his supporters spread the
misinformation online, tarnish my name, and hope it makes people think
Democrats are all “scum.” If they succeed, they win in the midterms based
on lies.
