We must protect the Boundary Waters wilderness from toxic sulfide-ore copper mining, and this is the year to do it. Luckily, today is your chance to make TRIPLE the impact to protect the Boundary Waters with a 3X matched gift for our March Match campaign.

Clear-cut forest converted to industrial mining. Wetlands drained and filled. Waste piled above the treetops, visible for miles. This is only some of the destruction we can expect from sulfide-ore copper mining in the watershed of the Boundary Waters Wilderness. We must prevent this from ever happening.

These types of conservation battles are very hard to win. We’re up against the monumental power and influence of the mining industry, but we have an opening this year to finally get it done.

This year is our best chance to pass federal law that permanently protects the Boundary Waters watershed from copper mining, and the next few months will be absolutely critical for this effort.

If we fail to act, we will miss out on a rare opportunity to protect public lands as valuable and beloved as the Boundary Waters, and cast into doubt whether or not this one-of-a-kind Wilderness will be protected for generations to come.
