Hello Friend, I have finished the first section of my cross-country Reconnection Tour, and it has been simply amazing! My goal is to connect with as many of you as possible and, just as importantly, to create the space for you to connect with one another. Our fantastic mobilizing team has organized the tour in several stages so we can be flexible as the pandemic evolves, and so that I am not on the road for too long at once. Meeting with Greens in their communities has truly left me feeling energized and hopeful. In the town halls so far we have had so many different conversations; we have spent time dreaming together about what a flourishing Green future looks like, and figuring out how we get there. Get on board with the Green dreamers and doers? Chip in now to support our vision for a greener, fairer Canada. Building community is the most powerful tool we have. In the face of problematic systems of society and government, community changes everything. In a world where we’ve forgotten what it feels like to be cared for, getting together and connecting is powerful. Fear holds us immobile under threat; knowing we have each other gives us freedom. In this time of overlapping crises, rising tensions and so many living in precarity, Greens are the answer. We know how to build locally, we dare to love in the face of hate, and we also know what needs to be done to build on-the-ground resilience for food, water, and housing security. As interim Leader I am here to serve you, to help you change the world one vegetable garden and one elected Green MP at a time, and to help us elect an inspiring new Leader! On the Reconnection Tour, we are learning how we can better support our members and Electoral District Associations. I’ll be on the road again next month, looking forward to meeting you and hearing your concerns. Like good Greens, we’re travelling on a shoestring budget but the costs still mount up. If you can, please help out so that I can come to your community soon. I’m looking forward to thanking you in person.
