I’m reaching out personally to ask you to support Cheri Beasley’s campaign for U.S. Senate in North Carolina.

If you’re looking for a race where your contribution can make a difference — not only in the outcome but in the actual policies we’re able to pass in Congress, then I cannot recommend Cheri’s campaign enough.

So many of our hard-won rights are in jeopardy today, and it’s women of color and low-income women who are disproportionately impacted by the attacks on voting and reproductive rights sweeping our country.

Representation matters, Sandra. Just look at Cheri’s impact on the North Carolina Supreme Court. It took her leadership as Chief Justice for the court finally to finally create a paid family leave policy.

Today, women make up just 27 percent of all members of Congress — only 24 percent of the Senate. Our voices and perspectives matter — and we need to hear them if we’re going to have a government that truly represents us.

But glass ceilings don't shatter themselves. We have to put in the work. Cheri has always been a trailblazer, and with our help, she will be not only the third Black woman elected to the Senate but North Carolina’s first Black Senator ever.

I’m laser-focused on ensuring Cheri has the resources — early, when it matters most — to flip this seat and expand our majority. So please, before tomorrow's FEC deadline, make a donation directly to Cheri Beasley’s campaign to flip North Carolina.
