If we’re going to finally have a government that works for working families like ours, we need a Senate that reflects us

John,

In just a moment, I’m going to ask you to make a donation to DFA and my campaign for U.S. Senate. Please give me a chance to explain why your contribution, especially this month, is so important.

I’m running for United States Senate in Pennsylvania because, if we’re going to finally have a government that works for working families like ours, we need a Senate that reflects us.

I'm not your “typical” Senate candidate. I'm a gay Black man. I grew up in the projects of North Philly. And my family moved around a lot to avoid eviction.

No one like me has ever had a seat at the table in the U.S. Senate — and it’s time for working people to finally be in the room where decisions about our lives are being made.

But I have to be 100% honest with you, the race for Pennsylvania's open Senate seat is the most expensive contest in the country right now, and we’re coming up on our final quarterly FEC deadline before our May 17 primary.

This is one of the last times our fundraising numbers will be made public, and everyone will be watching to see if we have what it takes to take our fight for working families to the Senate.

That’s why we’re trying to bring in as many small-dollar donations this month as possible. It’s not just how much money we raise, but how many donations we receive that shows our grassroots strength.

So please, if you're in a place to do so, will you please consider making a contribution to my campaign and DFA today? It's not the amount that you choose to donate that matters most — it's your donation itself.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

I’m running to get things done for Pennsylvania's working families. Thank you for helping me get there.
