Tomorrow is Transgender Day of Visibility, an international event dedicated to celebrating the resilience and successes of transgender people.
We know that 2022 has been a challenging year for the transgender community in state legislatures - especially trans youth. In the spirit of Transgender Day of Visibility and celebrating trans and nonbinary people, here are three of our joyful moments so far in 2022 and one action you can take today.
I am extremely proud of all of the trans and non-binary people on our team. Four of these folks make up Equality Federation’s Advocacy & Civic Engagement team. These dedicated and hard-working team members have directly supported 32 of our state partners with over 146 hours of advocacy, coaching, training, and legislative support.
Equality Federation has distributed over $316,000 to our state partners to defend transgender rights (with more to come). This funding has been disbursed through the Trans Defense Campaign via direct cash grants, rapid response funding, paid phone programs, and healing justice funds for the staff working tirelessly across the country. |
