Attacks Persist

Not a full day after Russia pledged at peace talks to “drastically reduce” attacks in Kyiv and Chernihiv, Ukrainian officials said there had been no such change, as the Washington Post reports.

Putin’s Misinformed

Declassified U.S. intelligence has indicated that Vladimir Putin was being misinformed about the invasion from aides fearful about his reaction. According to the U.S. intelligence, the misinformation has created mistrust and stoked tensions between Putin and his Ministry of Defense as the NYT reports.

Trade Policy Shift

U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai said Wednesday that the U.S. must shift the focus of its trade policy to rebuilding its domestic manufacturing industries, and lessening ties to unfriendly economies, as the WSJ reports.
