Hi friends,

I’ve been all around the state in recent weeks and I’ve enjoyed meeting with people and learning the issues most important to them. Here’s a quick round up of where I’ve been:

NEA Board Meeting [[link removed]]

Last week started with a National Education Association of Alaska board meeting. I was able to stop in and speak with educators about this race and thank them for teaching children how to succeed in life, in a career, and in how to be a reflective and responsible citizen.

Despite the challenges these educators face (fewer aides, BPOs, counselors, nurses, supplies, etc.) they remain dedicated to teaching our next generation of Alaskans. As you know, education advocacy being in my background, these issues are very personal to me.

I let them know that if elected as our Congresswoman, I will continue to do everything I can to support our teachers and public education. They protect and strengthen our economy and democracy.

Understanding Businesses, Big and Small [[link removed]]

Knowing that protecting and growing good jobs is the first thing that leads to our families living sustainably in Alaska, I have been meeting with many economists, business owners, healthcare administrators, leaders in tourism, Port of Alaska, fisheries experts, and Economic Development Council leaders to better understand what is going well, where the challenges are and how the federal government can support robust economic opportunities in Alaska.

I had a great time out in Palmer at an event to “celebrate the harvest, and inspire the future.” I enjoyed a local bratwurst and chatted with local farmers about ways to empower them through local and federal programs.

All Ages at What’s Up Wednesday [[link removed]]

We hosted two more public, town-hall style “What’s Up Wednesday” events, including our very first evening program. As always, I was inspired by the amazing stories I heard. At my morning coffee hour, I heard from Linda, a geologist who came to Alaska over 40 years ago to work for ARCO and ended up involved in the original STEM movement in Alaska.

At our evening event, I chatted with young professionals Matanuska Brewing in Downtown Anchorage. We discussed health care, education, the climate crisis and civil rights. We talked about how, in Congress, I'll fight to ensure that all Alaskans have access to a quality public education and reliable, affordable health care coverage. I'm ready to be a champion for our underserved populations, and I won't let partisan politics distract me from the issues facing our communities.

I will be traveling throughout the state a lot in the coming months to earn votes and resources. It’s truly a privilege to run for office and have the opportunity to meet with so many caring, knowledgeable and dedicated Alaskans. Many have already become more like family than friends. They open homes, give rides, introduce me to their friends and share their lives and stories so that I can more deeply know all Alaskans, whom I look forward to representing.

My ask for you...

We know we have a winning message - now we need to collect the resources required to get that message out. Last quarter, you helped me raise double what my opponent raised (without a dime from corporate PACs!). Can you step up today and make a contribution? [[link removed]]

Many thanks for your continued support in our campaign for the future of our beautiful state and country. We are in this together.

Sincerely,
Alyse Galvin
