Hi there,

ICYMI: Rev. Jasmine Beach-Ferrara is running for North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District. This seat is highly competitive and has never been filled by a woman. Jasmine is running to not only be the first woman to fill this seat but the first openly LGBTQ+ woman, as well. And she is running to unseat one of the Republican Party’s most dangerous politicians: Madison Cawthorn.

It’s not hyperbole to say that Cawthorn is a far-right extremist who uses his position to promote hatred and further the fringe right’s dangerous agenda. Reports have found that Cawthorn, 26, was involved in the planning of the Jan. 6 insurrection, and was one of only two congresspeople to speak at the “Stop The Steal” rally.

Most recently, he stated his sympathy for Russia’s position in the unprovoked and devastating war, calling Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a thug:

"Remember that Zelenskyy is a thug. Remember that the Ukrainian government is incredibly corrupt and is incredibly evil and has been pushing woke ideologies.” - Madison Cawthorn

Even Cawthorn’s Republican colleagues are starting to distance themselves from the congressman in response to his anti-Ukraine comments and several other inexcusable offenses. Additionally, before the new North Carolina maps were finalized during redistricting, Cawthorn announced his intentions to ditch his own constituents in favor of a safer, more conservative seat. Now that the new maps have been drawn, NC-11 is considerably more likely to go blue, which means Cawthorn is extremely vulnerable. That’s where Jasmine comes in.

As commissioner of her county, Jasmine has a proven track record of winning elections in the state of North Carolina, and has worked to make her county a place where everyone can belong and thrive. Here’s a quote from Jasmine that helps illustrate the urgency of her race:

“Madison Cawthorn exhibits the signs of a young man who has been radicalized by extremists and is now — dangerously — radicalizing others,” Jasmine said.

“Leadership starts with empathy, compassion, and listening – and then getting to work to help people. That’s the kind of leadership I want to offer instead of the division and mean spiritedness we’re getting now.”

Jasmine has a critical FEC filing deadline TOMORROW at midnight, which means her fundraising numbers will become public. This is our chance to help Jasmine show the world that she is READY to become NC-11’s first female Representative. Please chip in a $15 donation today to help her stay on track right now.
