CCL's conservative conference is this week!
CCL's Conservative Conference on March 29 and 30 has been a great
success in uniting right-leaning climate advocates in D.C. More than 100
right-of-center attendees have gotten to learn about the importance of
right-wing participation in the climate movement. Pictured above are
Rep. Young Kim, the Republican representative for California's 39th
district, and Craig Preston, chair of CCL's Conservative Caucus, at the
conference yesterday.
In the weeks leading up to the conference, many media outlets were
buzzing with excitement about the conservative-focused climate
conference. Nate Abercrombie, the Conservative Outreach Coordinator for
CCL, went on a radio and television media tour, appearing on WKBW7

, WUSA9

, and WDVM

.
The event featured speakers such as Rep. Nancy Mace (SC-01), Rep. Brian
Fitzpatrick (PA-01), Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski, and Executive
Director of RepublicEN Bob Inglis. The conference was co-hosted by
climate-focused conservative organizations RepublicEn and DEPLOY/US.
The speakers delivered messages about the history of conservatives in
conservation, as well as how U.S. jobs, business, and health are
impacted by climate change and can benefit from market-driven solutions.
The second day of the conference taught volunteers how to be
conservative climate leaders in D.C. and locally.

Media: CCL Executive Director's op-ed success
Earlier this month, CCL's Executive Director Madeleine Para wrote an
op-ed, connecting the dots between war in Ukraine and fossil fuel,
calling for cleaner energy usage.
CCL encouraged volunteers to send this op-ed to their local papers and
publications. Since then, Madeleine's op-ed has appeared in dozens of
papers across the country, from California

to Virginia

.
"The clean energy transition would bring more geopolitical, economic,
and climatic stability, keeping us safer and more secure on many
fronts," she writes, pointing to a well-designed price on carbon as a
policy to speed up that transition.
If your chapter hasn't submitted Madeleine's op-ed yet, there's still
time. You can access Madeleine's op-ed on CCL Community and submit it to
your local newspaper for publication. (Check in with your chapter to
make sure multiple people don't submit the piece to the same newspaper.)
