Dear John,

These past few weeks have taken a lot of my energy to walk into rooms I know I am unwanted and unwelcome in. I’ve had to walk into one of those rooms nearly every single day. When you are running against an incumbent, the floor tilts heavily in their direction. The system and people who feed into their maintenance of power often treat me like I am no better than the gum on the bottom of their shoe.

I walk into these rooms anyway because this is what it takes to run for office in PA-03 and so I can look everyday voters in the eye and tell them sincerely that I am fighting as hard as I can for us.

Here are some things that have kept my fight alive these past few weeks:

Our yard sign kept falling over in one of my neighbor’s yards, so they decided to reinforce it with metal poles.

Seeing the photos of people wearing our merchandise or the photos from folks excitedly spotting one of our yard signs “out in the wild.”

Being reminded by community members how infrequently our opponent shows up in the district, interacts with community members, and actually advocates for everyday people.

Reading the letters, emails, and DMs of people sharing their personal story with systemic failure or survival and how our fight for this district is inspiring hope.

Recognizing that we have built a global movement supporters who have my back even when they are not in the room with me.

When the days are tough, it’s people like yourself who keep my determination alive. I would not be a viable candidate if it weren’t for your support. As these days get even tougher leading up to Election Day, I need your help more than ever.

We are just $15,000 dollars short of where we need to be walking into the election and time is running out before our budget is due. If just 200 people gave right now we will be on track to meet our budget by the deadline at 11:59 PM ET this Thursday night.
