Hi folks,
I’m Justin, Michael’s campaign manager. Tomorrow marks the first end-of-quarter deadline of this election year. Supporters like you power our work, so please take a look at this personal update on Michael’s reelection campaign, then pitch in $10 before our first quarterly fundraising deadline of the election year to defend Michael’s seat and keep Colorado blue.
WHAT MICHAEL ACHIEVED THIS YEAR FOR COLORADO
Despite Mitch McConnell’s obstruction and our slim 50-50 Democratic majority, Michael delivered for Coloradans. Michael banned surprise medical bills so Coloradans don’t have to worry about unexpected costs during an emergency. Now, he’s fighting to lower the cost of insulin and cap out-of-pockets costs at $35.
As energy and gas prices went up, Michael doubled the funding to help Coloradans pay their energy bills and is fighting to hold Big Oil accountable for raising gas prices on working Coloradans.
Michael knows that climate change is a threat to our way of life here in Colorado. He passed the historic infrastructure bill that will create good-paying jobs in Colorado and help our state tackle climate change and recover from wildfires.
While Michael is fighting to create good-paying jobs, combat climate change, and more, GOP opponents are pouring money into attack ads that misinform the public and distort his record.
THE STATE OF THIS RACE
Michael is running on his record of delivering for working people, but he’s facing attacks from all sides. The National GOP arm tasked with flipping seats like Michael’s raised over $130 million this cycle that they could inject into Colorado. And this quarter, not only was Michael’s race ranked in the top 10 most likely to flip, but a poll showed him down by 1% to the GOP primary winner, who could be one of the following:
- An insurrectionist who bragged about crossing the police line on January 6th, joked about lynching, tried to get rid of vote-by-mail in Colorado, and said climate change is just “weather.”
- A Trump appointee who hired KellyAnne Conway to advise his campaign and recently came under fire for disrespecting law enforcement — yelling “Do you know who I am?” — at his out of control high school graduation party.
- The third is so wealthy that he contributed half-a-million dollars of his own fortune to his campaign last quarter and is plastering Colorado’s airwaves with misleading ads about Michael’s record.
The GOP primary field is packed with candidates attacking Michael to gain an edge in their race. Your support will help us set the record straight.
HOW WE’LL WIN IN NOVEMBER
Michael rejects donations from corporate PACs and federal lobbyists because their influence leads to inaction in Washington. He’s running a people-powered campaign because the issues that matter to you are front-and-center to his agenda.
But that means we have to stay on top of our fundraising goals from quarter to quarter, team. Mitch McConnell, Rick Scott, and Michael’s GOP opponents will be combing through our fundraising records once they’re public so it’s important we finish this quarter as strong as we possibly can. Right now, we’re 453 donors short of our goal for the month, but you can help close the gap.
Michael is counting on your support so he can continue fighting for Coloradans in the Senate. Please pitch in $10 — or what works for your budget — before tomorrow’s end-of-quarter fundraising deadline.
