Dear MoveOn member,
A bombshell report from The Washington Post and CBS News shows that Ginni Thomas—a far-right activist and the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas—personally pressured Trump's White House chief of staff to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.1
In a series of highly inappropriate text messages, Thomas tells Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows that "Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History" and repeatedly encourages Meadows to push false claims of voter fraud and pressures him to prevent the election from being certified.2
Despite his wife's active role in Trump's attempted white supremacist coup, Justice Thomas failed to recuse himself in a case regarding the release of records related to January 6 and, in an 8-1 ruling, was the sole justice who voted to keep the White House records hidden—including the texts that involved his wife.3
Clarence Thomas has once again abused his power—the latest in a long line of morally objectionable and inappropriate actions throughout his career—and he must immediately be removed from the court.
That's why MoveOn is launching a campaign unlike any in our 23-year history: We're calling on Clarence Thomas to resign—and if he fails to do so, we're demanding that Congress impeach him and remove him from the Court.
Will you chip in $5 a month to power the effort to remove Clarence Thomas from office for as long as it takes?
No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.
In the texts between Thomas and Meadows, Thomas repeatedly parroted right-wing conspiracy theories about the election, urged Trump not to concede by saying that "it takes time for the army who is gathering" in support of him, and mentioned having conversations with her "best friend" about their belief in the claims of election fraud.4 Thomas and her husband have publicly referred to each other as their best friends.5
Rightfully, the congressional committee investigating the January 6 insurrection is seeking to question Ginni Thomas regarding her role in the effort to prevent the peaceful transfer of power.6
Now, it's time for Clarence Thomas to be held to account too. He and his wife have long maintained close involvement with right-wing organizations and activities, some of whom have brought business before the court in cases in which Thomas has ruled—and it's clear Thomas has no interest in even the appearance of impartiality.
MoveOn is ready to flood Congress with calls, host rallies, run ads, and launch a powerful grassroots movement to demand that Thomas is impeached and removed from the bench—but we need your help to do it, John.
Please, if you are able, will you start a $5 monthly donation to power and sustain our campaign to remove Clarence Thomas from the Supreme Court?
No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.
Thanks for all you do.

Want to support our work? Right-wing groups are spending tens of millions of dollars on TV ads to smear critical progressive legislation. Meanwhile, donations to progressive groups like MoveOn are plummeting now that a Democrat is in the White House, meaning we don’t have the resources to fight back. That's a huge problem, and that's why we urgently need your support.
Will you chip in to fight right-wing lies and pass urgent legislation to confront the multiple crises our country faces?
No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.
