Friend, in a moment, I'm going to ask you to join me in helping Val Demings defeat Marco Rubio in Florida's crucial Senate race. But first, I want to share why I'm personally committed to electing Val Demings.  

Four years ago, my daughter Jaime was murdered with an assault weapon in the Parkland massacre. Ever since, Marco Rubio – despite being our senior senator – has refused to work with Parkland survivors like me to end our country's gun violence epidemic and save lives. In fact, he actively prioritizes the gun lobby's agenda over the safety of our communities. 

But Val Demings has been one of the fiercest advocates for gun safety reform since day one. She helped pass universal background checks in the House, and I know we can count on her to continue working to end gun violence in the Senate. 

It all comes down to this: If Val Demings wins, gun safety champions can expand their majority in the Senate and we can finally have enough votes to do the right thing: save lives by creating commonsense gun laws.

So I'm asking for your help, friend. Marco Rubio has a massive war chest from the gun lobby and far-right megadonors. And right now, national Republicans are spending millions on desperate attack ads against Val Demings to smear her record. She's counting on immediate grassroots support to raise $50,000 by midnight so she can set the record straight with Floridians – and if she comes up short, she could fall behind in this race.
