Dear John,
We are happy to welcome you to the Affordable Housing Network! Over the past several months, Prosperity Now and an Affordable Housing Network Advisory Board of trusted partners from the field have collaborated to build a shared overview and purpose that grounds our work together:
We envision a housing system where all individuals, of all races or economic backgrounds, have access to affordable, safe, and stable housing, and opportunities to create wealth in the process.
The Affordable Housing Network brings together and empowers organizations, individuals, housing justice initiatives, and other stakeholders working for accessible affordable housing across all communities that have been historically oppressed through community building, sharing information and promising practices, and policy advocacy.
As a member of the Affordable Housing Network, you will be able to:
Have access to national peers and experts on affordable housing. Receive direct information on affordable housing, fair lending, community development and financial capability. Join virtual and in-person events on affordable housing options, the appraisal process and more. Advocate for increased housing program funding, equitable implementation of programs, increasing the stock of affordable housing, and more. Participate in working groups focused on affordable housing advocacy and racial equity in housing development. Partner with Prosperity Now, housing experts, policymakers, the private sector, and other members across the country. Have direct input into future activities of the Affordable Housing Network.

As a member of this Network, you are invited to take action [[link removed]] today! As Congress is discussing future spending bills, we are advocating for the inclusion of affordable housing in any paired-down version of last year's Build Back Better Act. Take a moment to send our pre-drafted email [[link removed]] to your legislators and ask that downpayment assistance, rental assistance and funding for affordable housing be prioritized in any 2022 version of Build Back Better.
