Hi there, John! My name’s Ginnie and I’m a Women’s March volunteer.
Since I became involved with Women’s March, I’ve been able to participate in organizing and training programs – at no cost – because of grassroots supporters like you. Now, Women’s March is facing an important fundraising deadline to keep these same critical programs funded.
I first became involved with Women’s March in 2017. Donald Trump had just been elected President. I felt angry and frustrated, so I pulled on my shoes and marched in the Women’s March on Washington. I joined millions of women around the world, stating loud and clear: we will not go backward.
In 2018 and 2019, I marched again – this time, with my first daughter in tow. During the 2020 election, I joined fellow Women’s Marchers in texting voters to turn out support for Joe Biden and finally drive Donald Trump out of the White House. Now, I’m the proud mom of two daughters, who have reaffirmed my commitment to building a world where women are viewed as equal, treated with respect, and valued as members of society.
Women’s March gives me the opportunity to take meaningful action towards building that world – not just for my daughters, but also for our future generations. Through programs like the Feminist Fundamentals Short Course and the ‘beat the blues with bell’ Book Read, I’ve challenged my own assumptions, connected with other Women’s Marchers, and explored intersectionality in feminist movements
New challenges are emerging every day, from attacks on our reproductive rights to a rise in white supremacy. Each Women’s March organizing program leaves me feeling empowered and informed to fight back and drive lasting change. Women's March trainings, marches, and programs are all free to attend – but they can only stay that way with enough grassroots funding.
Together,
Ginnie Gordon
