Investor & Funder Call: Native Conservancy
TOMORROW, March 31st at 2pm ET
Alaska Natives are staking a claim in the state’s plans to grow a billion-dollar mariculture industry. While leading fisheries are lining up for permits, the difference lies in millennia of experience in sustainable harvest and marine responsibility that inform a Native brand in indigenous-led kelp farming and processed foods.

Native Conservancy is assisting Indigenous Ocean Farmers to address the dozen or so barriers to entry to this quickly emerging kelp industry. It begins with direct support from visionary and courageous foundations and donors who want to see Indigenous people enter this new ocean industry with kelp and mariculture farm permits near their ancestral waters and villages.
After 150 years, Alaska Natives are tired of being pushed out of their villages and regenerative seafood economies by the seafood industrial complex. Your support will allow Native Conservancy to assist and empower Alaska Native peoples to become ocean farmers, cover their kelp farm permit fees and help finance them to purchase kelp farming equipment (boats, buoy’s, lines and anchors) and put them in a position to lead this fledgling yet emerging ocean industry, on their terms.
Join Dune Lankard (Native Conservancy) and current investors and funders including April Minnich (The Baum Foundation), Ann Whittemore (Highlands Associates) & Ruben Hernandez (Full Spectrum) and hear how you can participate in building a resilient, regenerative, blue economy in Alaska.
