Hello to Team MGS!
As the Assistant Speaker of the House of Representatives, I have the pleasure of working hand-in-hand with so many incredible elected leaders.
One of them in particular is Mary Gay Scanlon. Here’s what makes Mary Gay special:
- She’s in it for the right reasons – Like me, Mary Gay’s first step into public service was running for the school board in her children’s school district. Building on the work she did as a pro-bono lawyer, her leadership is an extension of her identity as an advocate for children and families.
- She gets stuff done – in a system clogged by gridlock and bureaucracy, Mary Gay delivers over and over for the families in her district — from improving veterans’ health care to securing funding to strengthen Philadelphia’s water infrastructure.
- She is a joy to work with – in a field sometimes dominated by big egos, Mary Gay is a warm and inclusive collaborator. Whether she is co-sponsoring legislation or helping a constituent access benefits, Mary Gay approaches her work with intelligence, compassion, and enthusiasm.
Mary Gay advocates for the children and families of southeast Pennsylvania with integrity, kindness, and rigor. For all these reasons – and so many more – I am proud to support her reelection campaign.
