As the people's lawyer, it's my job to help Minnesotans afford their lives and live with dignity, safety, and respect, especially when they have nowhere else to turn for help.
In the tradition of strong Minnesota attorneys general, that's what I've done for Minnesotans. I'm proud of the progress we made, but the truth is, it's fragile.
There are powerful special interests aligned with my GOP opponents who want to restrict our right to vote, take away the right to choose, and enrich corporate profits at the expense of working families. After our first public fundraising deadline of the year tomorrow, they'll have their best chance yet to gauge the strength of our campaign.
I had the closest statewide race in Minnesota in 2018, so I'm already a top target for the GOP. If our campaign looks vulnerable when our fundraising report is published, it will embolden them even more.
John, that's why I'm reaching out personally this morning. I just got an update from my campaign fundraising team, and with about 36 hours to go, we're still more than $17,000 short of our public fundraising goal.
Tomorrow night's deadline is the biggest test we've faced yet, and just like every challenge we've overcome, the only thing that will carry us through is people power. Please stand with me today and rush a donation of $10, $25, $50 (or whatever works for you) to help us bring this home.
