I’ll be honest: our race to flip Maryland blue and take back the governor’s mansion in November won’t be easy. We’re running in a crowded field of establishment and celebrity candidates, but unlike our opponents, our campaign doesn’t rely on special interests and insider connections. This campaign is people-powered, and I’m so proud that our support comes from progressive, grassroots champions like you.
But, we simply cannot stand out in this crowded field if we don’t have the resources to share our vision for a more just Maryland with voters in every corner of the state. Friend, that’s why I’m emailing you today – can you make your first contribution before our end-of-quarter deadline tomorrow?
My finance team set an ambitious $15,000 end-of-quarter goal and as of this morning, we are still $2,470 shy of hitting our mark. I know hitting that goal between now and tomorrow at midnight might sound like a long shot for us, but the truth is my whole life has been a long-shot. I lost my parents at a young age and got in trouble so often that I was kicked out of school. But thanks to people investing in me — especially my public school teachers — and seeing my potential, I got through these difficult times and found my true passion: helping others through education.
Now, I have an opportunity to continue to make a difference by serving as Maryland’s next governor. I know that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and given a chance to reach their full potential — like I was as a young man — and I will fight for this to become a reality for all Marylanders.
But to do so, I need the resources to win this race. Friend, we are so close to hitting our quarterly goal – and with only one day before our deadline hits, I’m counting on supporters like you to pitch in your first donation to fuel us across the finish line before time runs out.
I am so grateful to have your support as my team and I work every day to bring progressive change to Maryland.
From all of us at Team King, thank you.
John
