At AVAC, we’ve been calling for coordinated planning to introduce and rollout new prevention products, while expanding access to existing options. We’ve said that these efforts must move much faster than they have in the past, and learn from the lessons of rolling out oral PrEP ([link removed]) . So what matters right now for rolling out the Dapivirine Vaginal Ring ([link removed]) and injectable cabotegravir ([link removed]) as additional PrEP options? Until now, daily oral PrEP, first approved in 2012, has been the only drug-based strategy for HIV prevention. So now it’s time to take the next steps to deliver these new options.
