And we're gearing up for our Earth Day celebration -- it's one of our favorite times of the year, when people around the world come together to get involved and take action for our planet. And as part of the Sierra Club community, you know how urgent environmental action is and how powerful we are when we act together.
That's why we're asking you to get involved this year and share your passion for our planet as a fundraiser yourself. Fundraising is powerful not just for the resources you give to support our work, but by sharing why you care about protecting our planet and communities, you invite your friends and family to join the cause. And if it feels early to start a fundraiser, it’s never too soon for action. It’s also fun to think of ways to put the fun in fundraising! Folks have asked people to donate for every bag of litter they pick up, organized garden get-togethers to raise money, and more -- what will you do for our planet?
Earth Month is the perfect time to talk with your loved ones about why we all must renew our commitment to nature and our climate. Across the country, people are looking for ways to get involved and give back, and just need a place to start. And as we all know in the climate movement, starting is the most important step.

We face serious challenges: twin biodiversity and climate crises, unprecedented levels of toxic pollution, and nature in rapid decline. Protecting the air we breathe, water we drink, places we live and play -- it touches almost every aspect of our lives, and there's no time to waste. That's why the Sierra Club is working so hard to accelerate our transition to clean energy, hold our leaders and businesses accountable to swift environmental action, and ensure a livable planet for all.
