Spring Member Drive: Donate Now <[link removed]>

Hi Reader,

Our spring fundraising drive began this week, and I’m so grateful for the response we’ve seen so far from our readers. I hope you’ll join them by making a donation in any amount <[link removed]> to support our deep-dive journalism that shines a light on corruption and injustice, and seeks to hold the powerful to account.

We shine that light with purpose. Our mission is to use the moral force of investigative journalism to spur impact. Our work has led to laws being passed, people resigning from powerful positions, victims receiving compensation and much more. We carefully track the impact following our work, and here are a few recent examples:

*

State Launches Cancer Study After ProPublica Identifies Toxic Air Pollution Hot Spot <[link removed]> After learning from a ProPublica analysis that his Missouri city had a high estimated cancer risk from toxic air, Verona Mayor Joseph Heck demanded that the state investigate. Health officials confirmed his worst fears and want to learn more.

*

Congress Opens Investigation Into FDA’s Handling of a Problematic Heart Device <[link removed]> The investigation follows ProPublica’s reporting on safety problems surrounding the FDA and the HeartWare Ventricular Assist Device.

*

Southwestern States Make Changes to Welfare After ProPublica Investigations <[link removed]> The moves follow months of reporting on punitive and outdated welfare policies in this part of the country and come amid a yearslong surge in the region’s cost of living.

*

House Committee Issues Subpoena to Top Trump Fundraiser Kimberly Guilfoyle <[link removed]> Guilfoyle, fiancee of Donald Trump Jr., boasted in text messages that she raised $3 million for the Jan. 6 rally. The demand for legal documents and a deposition is the first for a member of the Trump family’s inner circle.

We’ve got reporters all over the country investigating stories of injustice and corruption — stories that can make a real difference for everyday people. It’s the only kind of work we do, and we’re able to sustain it because of the generosity and confidence of our readers.

Join over 40,000 ProPublicans and donate today. <[link removed]> Help ensure that ProPublica has the resources to follow the most important stories wherever they lead and for however long it takes.

Thanks so much, Jill Shepherd Fellow ProPublican <[link removed]>
