Local Election Officials in Georgia Oppose G.O.P. Election Bill As Republicans rush to pass a second round of new voting and election rules, a bipartisan group of election officials is fighting back.

Friend,

This is it: we’re on the verge of preventing one of the most aggressive anti-voter bills in the country from passing the Georgia state Senate, but we need your help right now if we’re going to defeat the odds and deliver this monumental win for Georgia voters and election workers.

At a legislative hearing this past Monday, a bipartisan coalition of civil servants  who carry out the day-to-day work of running elections came together to speak out against the latest attack on our voting rights. Their message was clear: this new bill will put more stress on their dwindling force of election workers, and its provisions could lead to more voter intimidation and poll worker turnover. We can’t let that happen.

This is urgent: can you donate $25, $50 or $75 to help us fight back right now?

Several officials pointed to a provision that would require elections administrators to account for all elections-related documents, including the pieces of paper that ballots are printed on.

In addition to this, the bill doubles down on the Big Lie, anti-voter legislation and tactics from the 2020 election, creating additional barriers to vote and participate in our democracy. One provision gives the Georgia Bureau of Investigation the power to subpoena election records for fraud investigations — a tactic clearly intended to scare off voters.

The state’s legislative session ends on April 4th and we’ve been working behind the scenes and publicly with legislators and local county officials to fight back. But we’re going to need your help if we’re going to stop this blatant and egregious attack on Georgia elections and the freedom to vote. With your support, we can help block the impact of this bill.

In solidarity,

Team Fair Fight Action
