Mikie tirelessly fights for a fix to the SALT deduction cap to put money back in New Jersey families’ pockets. She’s helped secure funding for the Gateway Tunnel project to make sure commuters in the Northeast have safe, reliable transit. This is the biggest fundraising deadline of 2022 to date, and Mikie is facing a tough bid for re-election this year.
The Republican candidate for governor in New Jersey narrowly lost his election, but he won all five of New Jersey’s swing districts -- including Mikie’s. Election experts think those results could be a warning of what’s to come in 2022 for New Jersey House Democrats like Mikie.
And those results are emboldening more New Jersey GOP politicians to throw their hats in the ring. Mikie is facing a large number of potential challengers vying for her seat.
